Deep Silver has just announced its decision to part ways with development partner YAGER. This basically means that YAGER is no longer working on Dead Island 2. Not only that, but Deep Silver did not reveal any other studio working on it, meaning that the game will most probably miss its 2016 release.
As Deep Silver announced via the game’s official Twitter account:
“With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve.
After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner YAGER.
We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage.”
Dead Island 2 was originally planned for a Spring 2015 release. In April 2015, Deep Silver revealed that the game was delayed to 2016.
