Playtonic Games has announced that its 3D platformer, Yooka-Layle, has sold one million copies worldwide on all platforms. Yooka-Layle was released in April 2017 and it took the team more than a year in order to hit the one million milestone.
Wahey! We’ve hit a milestone of over 1 million #YookaLaylee players! Have a massive thank you from all of us at Playtonic, in the form of a fresh photo of the world’s most gorgeous 47-year-old, Kev Bayliss (bottom right), with his colleagues. pic.twitter.com/AZOX7PLw9F

The game released on the PC with some major issues but Playtonic was managed to resolve some via post-launch patches. For example, the team has added a new optional camera mode, first-person aiming control options, new icons for keyboard/mouse controls, and the ability to speed through dialogue by holding Y.
Moreover, Playtonic is currently working on a 64-bit mode that will transform the game into something that could have been released on the Nintendo 64. Now while some will not like this mod, it will definitely appeal to those that enjoyed games like Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo Kazooie.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
