Xaviant shared today some new screenshots and details about its upcoming action adventure title that will be powered by Crytek’s proprietary engine, Lichdom. As its press release reads, Lichdom is a violent world, where cruel tyrants terrorize the people, and where dark magic corrupts the very land itself. Square Enix today released a new video for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in which Lightning, the heroine of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII descends upon the realm of Eorzea. She appears in one of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn’s Full Active Time Events (FATE), a periodic battle that will allow players to fight alongside Lightning. Upon completing this event successfully, players can receive gear and weaponry modeled after those found in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. AMD and DICE reveal Mantle, low-level graphics API for Radeon cards, offering 9X better performance

DICE’s Johan Andersson revealed today that AMD and DICE are working on a low-level high-performance graphics API for Radeon cards, called Mantle. According to AMD, Mantle offers up to 9X more draw calls per second than other APIs by reducing CPU overhead. This is crucial as according to Johan, this API will be able to finally offer PC gamers proper multi-tasking scaling on the CPU without the need to handle all the background draw calls that the original, old model, requires. First Official Trailer For “Need For Speed The Movie” Released

The first official trailer for the movie based on Electronic Arts’ racing franchise, Need For Speed, has been released and can be viewed below. The storyline of this movie feels pretty basic, while the overall style of the trailer reminded us of NFS: The Run (more or less).
