Get ready for some bad news Dark Souls fans. Yes, the game is coming to the PC and that’s what most of us have been asking all this time. And although some of you misunderstood From Software’s statement about the ‘720p resolution’ restriction, we are happy to report that the game supports resolutions up to 1080p. As we said back when that information got out, From Software was obviously talking about the game’s assets resolution and nothing more. You know what? It’s a bit ironic to see a platform winning E3, even without having a press conference dedicated to it. Of course most of you are drooling over Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Tomb Raider, Dead Space 3, Dishonored and other multi-platform titles, right? Well, time to let you know that all those games were demoed on a PC and not on a console. Forget those controllers that were used. Instead of lying to everyone (like Crytek did back in 2010 with their Crysis 2 demo), most companies in this year’s E3 admitted that they were using a PC to showcase their games, either publicly or in personal interviews. Crytek is well known for pushing the graphical boundaries as both Far Cry and Crysis 1 were – visually – way ahead of their time. However, their decision to start developing multiplatform titles seems to have backfired, as the company is not considered the pioneers of PC graphics. And it seems that’s one of the reason why the company is already tired of current generation consoles and is really looking forward to the next generation era. Continue reading Crytek is already ‘tired’ of current generation consoles; ‘PC is allowing us to push so much more’→
Zenimax Online has revealed the first gameplay footage of their upcoming The Elder Scrolls Online title. This is basically a flythrough video that shows off the game’s environments. Yeah, this is not on par with Skyrim’s visuals but it still looks quite good. The Elder Scrolls Online is currently slated for a 2013 release, exclusively on the PC. Enjoy the footage – courtesy of SpikeTV – after the jump. We’ve also included the teaser CG trailer that was released recently. Continue reading E3 2012 – The Elder Scrolls Online Gameplay Footage→

Now here is something interesting. Frictional Games, the amazing studio behind Penumbra and Amnesia series, has another title under development. No, we are not referring to Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs that is developed by thechineseroom. According to Frictional’s Jens Nilsson, the company is simply helping – and funding – Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, while at the same time is developing a brand new, unannounced game. Man, how things have changed. The original Crysis was an amazing PC FPS title but it’s sequel was really restricted by consoles. Even though Crytek said – back then – that its development would not be limited by consoles, we said immediately that that would not be the case. Crytek afterwards revealed that the game was developed with consoles in mind and that’s one of the reasons why the nanosuit was redesigned (in order to be fully playable with a gamepad). Fast forward a couple of months and here we are today with Crytek admitting that Crysis 2 was held back by consoles and that Crysis 3 will offer some extra love to the PC gamers.
