And it has just been revealed. Command & Conquer: Generals 2 is a reality and will be a triple-A PC game. The game will be developed by BioWare and in cased you didn’t catch it, it will be a PC exclusive title as the only available platform – for the time being – is the PC. Given that this is EA though, we might see it on consoles too. However, the game is PC exclusive for now. Interesting, no? Oh, and the game will not support DX9 as we can see from its minimum requirements. Does this mean that it’ll use the Frostbite 2.0 engine? Oh yes it does. BioWare and Frostbite 2.0 in a strategy game. Seriously now, what more could you ask for? The game is currently slated for a 2013 release and we have some screen-grabs from the official release, the first details, system requirements and its teaser trailer after the jump. Enjoy everyone! Eighteen years ago, a first person shooter came to change the way we perceive video games today. A small gaming studio in Texas, a bunch of gamers with a passion and a vision released a shareware version of their latest game that became a hit in due time. The legendary Doom, the daddy of all FPS and successor to our beloved Wolfenstein, got released. Eighteen years since its first appearance and this bad boy is still one of our favourite FPS as it reminds us of what FPS games were back in the days. Our dear friends at PCGames.de have posted some new screenshots from Return to Jurassic Park. Return to Jurassic Park is a Crysis mod for Jurassic Park with a fictional story setting on Isla Nublar 18 years after the first film. Well, at least that’s the plan of the mod team and although it’s clearly stated to be a Crysis mod, word has it that it will be moved to Crysis 2. What’s also really interesting is that one of the ‘compy’ images is actually a ingame shot. It’s hard to believe that a modding team has managed to produce such real-time graphics, so our guess is that it’s a PR trick and nothing more. Still, these renders look lovely. Enjoy! One of the greatest things of PC gaming is the workarounds that most modders/programmers/developers can come up with for various issues and technical limitations. By now, most of you will be aware of FXAA, an anti-aliasing method that can be forced to pretty much every game and comes without any major performance hit. If you’ve ever tried that method, you’ll be already aware of the blurriness that is introduced with it. Well, get ready everyone because Andrej Dudenhefner created an injector tool that forces Subpixel Morphological Antialiasing to every game, with results similar to FXAA but with an even lower performance hit and without any blurry effects. Okay guys, I’m puzzled here. This is the first time I’ve seen a racing game requiring such a high-end GPU. Team 6 Studios have just revealed the system requirements for their upcoming arcade racer, FlatOut 3: Chaos & Destruction. And get this right; the team recommends a GTX590 and 20GB of free hard-disk space. Just… wow. A GTX590 GPU is required? So this game should have mind-blowing graphics, right? Well, to be honest, I haven’t seen anything from FlatOut 3 that justifies such high requirements. All hell has broken loose today as there was a rumor that – according to UkraNews – GSC GameWorld would be closing its doors. And sadly, it has been confirmed by both GSC GameWorld’s employees and GSC’s director Dmitri Bourkovski, who has officially confirmed the closure of GSC and the cancellation of Stalker 2. Yeap, GSC GameWorld is no more guys. Moreoever, there was a major leak of STALKER 2 artworks and screenshots just a few hours ago. Now frankly, we don’t know if this leak was intentional – as a means to calm the game’s fans down – but we do know that STALKER 2 looked promising. Oh boy, what a shame.
