The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – First HD Texture Pack Released

Great news for Skyrim fans, as the first Texture Pack for Bethesda’s RPG has just been released. According to the modder, almost all textures have been enhanced and are 4X the size of the original ones. As with most Texture Packs, some might like it while others might not. To be honest though, it seems that bythemark (thanks for the correction MOFISTO) has tweaked the original textures instead of replacing them with some brand, new HD ones. The end result is great in our own opinion and you can find the download link, as well as some comparison shots, after the jump. In addition – and contrary to some other map leaks that have appeared on the web some weeks ago – this does look like the real deal. Continue reading GTA V Map Leaked?

PC gamers, meet Dear Esther; A mesmerizing adventure game that is powered by the Portal 2 Engine

Built in the Source engine and originally released in 2008 as a mod for Half Life 2, Dear Esther quickly established itself as an award-winning, critically acclaimed experimental first-person game. It abandons all traditional game play, leaving only a rich world soaked in atmosphere, and an abstract, poetic story to explore. In 2009, it was picked up by a professional game artist, Robert Briscoe, for a complete overhaul of the visuals and level design, in the hopes that it would be able to overcome it’s early shortcomings as a mod and be able to fulfil its true potential. Enjoy Battlefield 3 without Origin or Battlelog using your browser

I’ve said it before and will say it again; it was a really bad move to force both Origin and Battlelog in order to enjoy Battlefield 3. And as you’d expect, the PC gaming community has come up with some ways to override these obstacles. Well… sort of as the way to override Origin is illegal. Still, PC gamers have that option and it’s quite disturbing that we have to rely on crackers – yeah that’s right. We are now relying on crackers to fix our games – to simply enjoy the games we bought. Oh, the horror. Continue reading Enjoy Battlefield 3 without Origin or Battlelog using your browser
