Capcom has just released the first patch for its latest action RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2. This patch will add an option to start a new game when save data already exists. Moreover, it will improve the image quality of DLSS Super Resolution.
I cannot stress enough how important this patch is for NVIDIA owners. With the Ray Tracing Mod that we shared a couple of days ago, an NVIDIA RTX 4090 can drop below 60fps even at Native 1440p. And, since DLSS Super Resolution looked awful, there was no point at all using the DLSS 3 Frame Generation Mod.
With this update, though, NVIDIA owners will be able to finally get high framerates without sacrificing the game’s image quality. This is a huge deal. Sadly, though, there is still no word on when Capcom will add official support for DLSS 3 Frame Generation. There is also no update on when – and if – it will ever support FSR 3.0 Frame Generation.
It’s also worth noting that this update changes the number of “Art of Metamorphosis” items available at Pawn Guilds in the game to 99. For those unaware, Art of Metamorphosis allows you to edit both their Arisen and main pawn a single time. So, you will no longer have to use a mod in order to change your Arisen’s appearance.
Before closing, I don’t know whether this update will break the compatibility of the mods we’ve shared. I’ve seen this happening in other games, so some mods may not work with this latest version of DD2. As such, their creators will have to update them so that they are compatible with this latest version.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
