FINAL FANTASY XVI feature-2

First Final Fantasy 16 PC Title Update Released & Detailed

Square Enix has released the first update for the PC version of Final Fantasy 16, and it has shared its complete changelog. This patch is around 200MB in size, and it will improve game stability, add controller options, and address several other issues.

According to SE, Title Update 1.01 resolves an issue wherein the frame rate would drop under certain conditions. Moreover, it enables Bluetooth connectivity for DualSense and DUALSHOCK controllers.

As said, this patch will improve the game’s stability. To be more precise, it fixes instances in which the game would close unexpectedly upon executing certain commands or under certain conditions.

Additionally, this patch addresses character graphics not displaying properly on certain screens. Plus, it fixes some issues with the UI, as well as instances of incorrect text displaying.

Since this is a small patch, it will not bring any major performance tweaks or optimizations. So, don’t expect the game to run better with it. As we’ve said, FFXVI is a GPU-heavy PC game. So, I’m curious to see whether the devs will be able to improve performance via some post-launch updates.

For what it’s worth, the game does not suffer from major stuttering issues. Square Enix has already resolved them in both the PC demo and the final version. And, since the PC demo is representative of the performance of the final version, I suggest downloading it. Well, that is if you are interested in it.

Finally, the game’s cutscenes are still locked at 30fps. Not only that but FF16 does not support ultra-wide PC monitors. Thus, you’ll still have to use this mod.

Like always, Steam will download this patch the next time you launch its client. Below you can find its complete changelog.
