First Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart PC patch improves Ray Tracing visuals

Nixxes has just released the first PC patch/hotfix for Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. According to the patch notes, this first update improves the game’s Ray Tracing visuals, and resolves visual issues with characters occurring on certain GPUs.

This patch does not feature any fix for the frame pacing/stutters we’ve reported. So, if you’re experiencing such issues, we suggest taking a look at this workaround. Given the nature of PC gaming, some PC systems may not suffer from these stutters. For what it’s worth, we’ve been able to replicate this issue multiple times on our PC system (more than twenty times and counting).

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the first game to support DirectStorage 1.2 with GPU Decompression. Additionally, it supports Ray Tracing effects on PC to enhance the game’s reflections, shadows and ambient occlusion.

The game’s launch version had some really weird ray-traced reflections and shadows. Thankfully, this hotfix addresses these graphical issues, allowing PC gamers to enjoy the RT reflections and RT shadows in their full glory.

As always, Steam will download this first PC patch for Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Lastly, our non-RT PC Performance Analysis for this Ratchet and Clank game will go live this weekend. Until then, you can go ahead and take a look at these DLSS 3 and Ray Tracing benchmarks.
