Yesterday, GSC GameWorld released a massive 110GB update for STALKER 2 that fixed over 1,800 issues. And now, just one day later, they’ve released another patch, this one around 7.6GB in size.
Sadly, GSC GameWorld has not shared yet any patch notes for this latest update. So, we don’t really know what exactly it does. I’ll be sure to update the story as soon as we get the changelog.
It’s also worth noting that after Patch 1.1, GSC GameWorld released a small hotfix. Title Update 1.1.1 fixes a crash on save load that some players were experiencing. Moreover, it fixed some of the issues that led to a crash during shader loading for some players.
As I’ve said, Patch 1.1 brought some tweaks, fixes and changes to A-Life 2.0. At the end of the article, you can find a video that shows off this current version of A-Life. As you will see, the game feels way better than before. So, kudos to the devs for improving it.
In other news, GSC GameWorld will reveal its new roadmap for STALKER 2 in January 2025. The team also claims that it plans to update the original STALKER trilogy for the PC. More news about these updates will come soon.
According to reports, STALKER 2 has already covered its development costs and is now profitable. This should be great news for GSC GameWorld. So, let’s hope that the devs will keep working on fixing most – if not all – of the game’s issues. Oh, and it would be nice to have some performance improvements.
In theory, this patch should be compatible with the mods we’ve shared. So, it should work with this mod that adds a Parkour-like climbing system to the game. It should also work with this mod that allows you to fast-travel anywhere on the map.
Earlier this month, we shared a mod that allowed you to loot all mutants. This was a feature present in all previous STALKER games that was apparently cut from STALKER 2.
Finally, you can download a mod that will remove the inventory carry/weight limit. I’m not a fan of this last mod but hey, some of you may like it. Then there is a mod that enables real-time dynamic flashlight shadows. Oh, and we also have a mod that can further improve the game’s graphics, and enable GTAO.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client.
Stay tuned for the patch notes!
