Warhorse Studios has just released Title Update 1.2.4 for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and shared its full patch notes. The key feature of this update is the Hardcore Mode. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
Hardcore Mode will make the game more realistic and hard than before. For instance, Henry’s location is no longer permanently shown on the map, and there will be no compass to guide you. Plus, fast travel is disabled, forcing you to navigate the world entirely on your own.
Players will also need to select at least three permanent negative traits at the start of the game. For example, you can select Bad Back which makes you carry less weight. Or you can choose Somnambulant which means sleepwalking and waking up in random places. Or Hangry Henry which will make Henry to be even more obsessed with food than usual.
Furthermore, Patch 1.2.4 comes with a few bug fixes. For instance, the patch fixes shadow flickering under certain weather conditions. It also rebalances shop prices for herbs, so that they never sell for a higher price than their buying price.
Not only that, but the game should be more stable than before. The devs have fixed a crash caused by getting hit while choosing dice. They have also fixed some conflicts that could occur with saving when having too many mods installed.
In theory, this patch should be compatible with the HD Texture Packs we’ve shared. So, right now, you can download packs that improve the textures of NPCs and environments. Needless to say, I highly recommend using them as these packs will improve the game’s visuals.
Another mod you can download is this one that allows you to save everywhere. Async Compute Mod is another incredible mod that can improve the game’s performance. I’ve tested it and it does work. This isn’t a placebo mod.
Sadly, the Async Compute Mod is not compatible with this mod, which enhances the game’s Global Illumination. So, you’ll have to choose between better visuals and better performance.
Finally, you can use this mod to play with a third-person camera.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
