Konami has released a new major update for the PC version of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1. Title Update 2.0.0 brings new PC controls to MGS2 and MGS3, and adds new rendering settings. Oh, and you can finally enjoy MGS2 with Keyboard and Mouse.
To be honest, after its rocky launch, this collection finally feels great on PC. In the previous patch, Konami brought tweaks, changes and improvements to the first MGS game. And now, we have these major improvements for the other two games.
Going into more details, MGS2 and MGS3 will now have two modes, Original Mode and Adjusted Mode. The Original Mode will run the games at their original resolutions. On the other hand, the Adjusted Mode will let you run them at higher resolutions, up to 4K.
This basically means that you will be downsampling them from a higher resolution. As such, you will now be able to enjoy sharper graphics. To showcase these visual improvements, Konami shared two videos that you can find at the end of the article.
Moreover, Konami has added a new setting that allows you to choose to set in-game movies to their original or higher resolution versions.
And that’s not all. As said, the devs have added Mouse support to Metal Gear Solid 2. As for MGS 3, the devs have added a new Zoom In/Out Mouse Sensitivity setting.
All in all, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 will play better than ever now on PC. This is a huge improvement over its launch version. So, kudos to the devs for not abandoning it.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. You can also find its complete changelog here.
Have fun!
