Bloober Team has released Title Update 1.6.1 for Layers of Fears which adds official support for NVIDIA DLSS 3. By enabling DLSS 3 Frame Generation, owners of the RTX 40 series graphics cards can get a significant performance boost.
Layers of Fears is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and takes advantage of Lumen for its lighting. Now the good news for PC gamers is that this UE5 game does not require a high-end GPU.
An RTX 4090 can push over 80fps at all times at Native 4K on Max Settings. That’s without using DLSS 3 Super Resolution. So, by using DLSS 3 Frame Generation, players will be able to get high framerates, even at native 4K.
As we wrote in our PC Performance Analysis, Layers of Fears does not require a high-end CPU, and can run on a wide range of GPUs, especially if you use DLSS 2 or FSR 2.0. Moreover, it’s a great-looking title so it justifies its GPU requirements. Its only downside was its elevated black levels and its traversal stutters.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its full patch notes.
