NVIDIA has just revealed that a new update for Returnal will release later today, adding support for DLSS 3 Frame Generation. This is great news for owners of the RTX40 series GPUs as this can significantly improve their framerates when using Ray Tracing.
Unfortunately, Climax Studios and Housemarque have not shared the changelog of this update. However, we’re already downloading the game in order to test DLSS 3. So, expect an article tomorrow in which we’ll discuss its performance gains, as well as whether there are any major latency issues.
Since we haven’t re-tested the game since our PC Performance Analysis, it will be interesting to see whether or not Climax Studios has resolved its traversal stutters.
For those unaware, Returnal supports ray-traced reflections and shadows on PC. These RT effects are exclusive on PC, making the PC the game’s definitive version.
Stay tuned for more!
