Coffee Stain Studios has released Update 8.2.0 for Satisfactory which upgrades the game to Unreal Engine 5.2.1. According to the team, this move to version 5.2.1 will bring a number of optimizations that will improve overall performance.
Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. In this game, players can chart and exploit an alien planet, battle alien lifeforms, create multi-story factories, enter conveyor belt heaven, automating vehicles, and researching new technologies.
Going into more tech details, Unreal Engine 5.2.1 will offer parallelized post processing blending, and it will enable virtual textures fo HLODs. Moreover, it will enable PSO caching as a means to eliminate shader compilation stutters. PC gamers can also expect numerous optimizations to Chaos memory, Texture memory, and Mesh memory.
Furthermore, Update 8.2.0 brings a number of audio enhancements. For instance, it replaces some audio files for the Tractor and Truck. It also tweaks and makes adjustments for Tractor and Truck audio.
Lastly, Patch 8.2.0 brings numerous QoL improvements, and fixes a lot of bugs/issues. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot. Those interested can find its complete changelog here.
