Respawn has just released a new PC performance patch for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. According to the team, Title Update 9 will address some of the stuttering issues, and it will improve CPU performance. Plus, it will remove the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
Going into more details, Patch 9 brings framerate improvements for various hardware configurations. It also packs fixes for several sources of framerate hitching for smoother gameplay. Ray Tracing has also been optimized for CPU usage and should now scale better for high-end GPUs. And finally, there are fixes for performance related to using a mouse as gameplay input.
I’m currently downloading the game so I can test this patch and I’ll report back on my findings. To be honest, though, I don’t expect this update to resolve all of the game’s traversal stutters. Still, it might reduce them due to the CPU optimizations.
Since the new version won’t have Denuvo, we won’t know whether or not it was the cause of some of the stutters. Most of the time, Denuvo does not impact a game’s overall performance (in terms of average framerates). However, it can cause additional stutters. We’ve seen this in Tekken 7.
Respawn also claimed that it has optimized the “Optimizing Game Files” screen. The game will now use multiple CPU cores, something that should reduce the amount of time it takes to complete it.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
