Bethesda has just released a new beta update for Starfield. According to its full patch notes, Beta Update 1.8.87 addresses two issues that plagued the game. So, consider this a minor patch.
Starfield Beta Update 1.8.87 resolves an issue that would cause space matter to become stuck to player’s ship during space travel. Loading a save will now remove the space clingon. Additionally, this beta patch fixes an issue that prevents random guns from spawning in a newly created Weapon Case after loading a save. And that’s it.
Surprisingly enough, Bethesda has not addressed yet the 30fps HUD space stuttery issues that are present in the game. Thankfully, there is a mod that fixes it, and you can find it in our “Best Starfield Mods” article.
Like always, Steam will download this beta update the next time you launch its client. That is of course if you’ve opted in its Beta branch. Below you can also find its full patch notes.

Gameplay
- Addressed an issue that would cause space matter to become stuck to player’s ship during space travel. Loading a save will now remove the space clingon. Please note: This fix should address any space matter being stuck in your travels, but not in instances where player ships have New Atlantis attached. A fix for that will be released in a later update.
