Bethesda has released a massive new title update for Starfield. According to the patch notes, Update 1.10.31 brings over 500 fixes, tweaks and improvements to the game. So, let’s take a closer look at them.
Patch 1.10.31 makes the flashlight better at night, so you can see particles more clearly. It also prevents rare pixelated shadows from appearing on characters’ clothes in certain lights. Plus, beards and mustaches now look nicer from far away. This update also stops things from flickering too much. And it makes lots of small changes to textures to fix some issues with how they look. Oh, and trees should look a bit better now too thanks to their improved LOD settings.
Update 1.10.31 also comes with a lot of gameplay fixes and tweaks. For instance, it resolves an issue where using a boostpack while entering zero-g could disable boosting. It also fixes various character head tracking issue that could make some scenes look inconsistent. You also won’t get a soft lock when you interact with a stun mine in a specific way. Oh, and the ship power allocations will no longer decrease due to crew member bonuses.
And there is more. Patch 1.10.31 adds the ability to invert the X-axis on a controller in the Settings menu. When using a keyboard, the player can now control their ship’s power allocation when pressing the Left Alt key and keys 2, 4, 6, and 8 on the number pad. It also addresses some inconsistencies with Character Creation sliders where sometimes switching back and forth would not produce the expected results.
