Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy Studios have released Patch 1.1.3 for The Last of Us Part 1 which adds support for AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Generation.
Now what’s interesting here is that according to some early reports, this official implementation of FSR 3.0 is actually worse than the FSR 3.0 Mod.
Not only that but the frame fluidity is not that great when using AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Generation. This implementation is nowhere close to what we saw in Starfield, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, or The Talos Principle 2.
It's the same BS as Avatar since the last update. It basically reports double the real framerate, probably duplicating frames, but the feeling is exactly like half of that. Say you use the in-game fps cap to 60fps, it will show 120fps but same feeling as 60. https://t.co/9e4YNfrdKG

This is such a disappointment. I don’t know what went wrong here. However, we advise you to stick with the AMD FSR 3.0 Mod. It’s better, in every way, than what Iron Galaxy and Naughty Dog are currently offering.
Ironically, there is still no support for NVIDIA DLSS 3. You’d expect the teams to also add support for it. But nope. The game now only supports AMD FSR 3.0. Again, there is a mod that enables DLSS 3 Frame Generation. However, it’s a paid mod, meaning that most of you won’t be using it.
And that is that. At this point, I hope Sony won’t ever allow Iron Galaxy to port any other of their games to the PC. I don’t want to be harsh on them, but they have messed up numerous PC ports. Batman: Arkham Knight, Uncharted Collection and The Last of Us Part 1 had major issues when they launched.
Stay tuned for more!
