Apsyr has released Title Update 1.2 for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered. This patch comes with a total of 155 fixes for all three games. So, let’s take a closer look at its full patch notes.
This new update adds new Photo Mode poses for Lara Croft, as well as a special outfit for Nightmare in Vegas. Moreover, it addresses graphical issues on many doors where textures would flash rapidly. It also improves rain, fire, and smoke effects. Not only that but dynamic lighting will now correspond more accurately to the original games.
It’s also worth noting that Lara’s character now disappears when the camera gets too close instead of clipping through her head. Oh, and Lara’s hair no longer expands/contracts in HD mode. Plus, this update fixes an issue where Steam achievements would sometimes have the wrong descriptions.
The aforementioned improvements apply to all three games. And, as you may have guessed, the update also packs fixes, tweaks and improvements for each game separately. For instance, in the first Tomb Raider, it updates the lightning in Thor room of St. Francis’ Folly and the missing textures in The Lost Valley. In Tomb Raider 2, it brings graphical improvements to all Wreck of Maria Doria levels. As for TR3, It updates the foliage textures to be more transparent.
All in all, this is a pretty solid new update. A lot of people see these remasters as the definitive way to play these classics. To be honest, though, I’m still waiting for more polished versions of the RTX Remix Mods. It would have been awesome if Aspyr added RT to these games. However, I believe that’s not in their cards. Then we have Tomb Raider Redux which adds a lot of QoL improvements that are not present in the remasters.
Like always, Steam will download this patch the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
