Ballistic Moon has just released Patch 1.05 for Until Dawn. According to the changelog, this new update brings performance improvements for lower spec PCs & Steam Deck. Moreover, it fixes AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation which was not working. As such, PC gamers can now use it to boost their performance.
Title Update 1.05 also fixes the stuttering when viewing in-game movies. From the release notes, though, it does not pack any improvements to reduce the in-game stutters.
The team claims that it has implemented some general fixes to address black screens and frame drops. Additionally, the VSync, Resolution Scale and HDR settings should now work as intended. There is also a fix for Screen Resolution % resetting to 25 when settings were changed. This was a really annoying bug that we immediately noticed. Plus, your settings will be now properly saved, and won’t be reset upon closing the game.
Patch 1.05 will also improve the game’s stability. As the devs noted, the patch fixes a crash that occurred around the shed in Chapter 8. Also, there is a fix for a dll error causing Steam Deck to fail on boot.
The devs have also shared more details on what they are working on. For instance, they plan to improve Ray Tracing and make Frame Generation work on its own, without depending on Resolution Scalers. They’re also working on a fix for issues caused by some anti-virus programs that interfere with the game. Also, they will add HDR support for Borderless. These changes will come in a future update.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. I also know that our PC Performance Analysis has been delayed. Hopefully, it will go live later this weekend.
