Can inZOI Early Access run with 60FPS at 8K/Ultra Settings on the NVIDIA RTX 5090?

KRAFTON has just released inZOI on Steam Early Access. The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5, so we’ve decided to test it on the NVIDIA RTX 5090. Can this high-end GPU run the game smoothly at a ridiculously high resolution like 8K? Time to find out.

For these 8K tests, I used an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of DDR5 at 6000Mhz, and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5090. I also used Windows 10 64-bit and the GeForce 572.83 driver.

inZOI is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and supports Ray Tracing. And, for our tests, we had RT enabled. So, we’re talking about 8K with Ultra Settings and the game’s default RT setting.

At 8K without Dynamic Resolution, we were getting really high framerates at 8K/Ultra Settings. However, something appears to be off here. For an 8K resolution, there were A LOT of aliasing issues. You can see these issues in the video at the end of the article. Hell, even shadows appear pixelated.

The good news is that by enabling DLAA, you can get a true native image. So, if you’re using 8K, you’ll get a real 8K image. If you’re running the game at 4K, you’ll get a real 4K image.

With DLAA at 8K/Ultra Settings with Ray Tracing, we were getting between 23-25FPS. Then, by using DLSS Quality Mode, we were able to get to 40FPS. To get to 60FPS, we had to enable DLSS Performance Mode and Frame Gen. Right now, inZOI does not support DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Gen. And despite that, we were able to get 60FPS at 8K.

Since we’re talking about an Early Access game, I won’t criticize its performance or its visual bugs. And trust me, there are A LOT of visual/graphical bugs. The game suffers from major pop-in issues. The lighting can also look awful in shadow-y places. There are scenes in which inZOI can look amazing (you can find some of them at the end of the video). However, the game’s graphics are inconsistent in its current EA build.

As with all Early Access games, we won’t thoroughly test inZOI. Once the game leaves its EA phase, we’ll be sure to benchmark it on all of our NVIDIA and AMD GPUs. Still, these 8K benchmarks can give you a small idea of how the game can run right now on the most powerful GPU. Yes, we’re talking about 8K, but why the hell not? For more “traditional” 1080p/1440p/4K benchmarks, we’ll have to wait until the game fully comes out.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
