Yesterday, Sony and Guerrilla Games announced that Horizon Zero Dawn will be coming on the PC on August 7th. Alongside this announcement, the teams released a brand new PC trailer for this game. Thus, YouTube’s ‘Cycu1’ has compared the PC trailer with the PS4 Pro version of Horizon Zero Dawn.
As we can see, the PC version looks almost exactly like the PS4 Pro. The biggest benefits of the PC version will be the unlocked framerate and the ability to use higher resolutions. Moreover, the PC version will feature dynamic foliage and better reflections. Other than these minor improvements, though, the PC version will look identical to the PS4 Pro version.
From the looks of it, the game’s LOD will also be the same. This is something that may displease some that have already played the game on PS4 Pro. It would be nice to have a better LOD on the PC, however, it appears that this won’t happen.
Horizon Zero Dawn on the PC will support ultra-wide resolutions and monitors, 4K resolutions and unlocked framerates. Moreover, it will have a benchmark tool, and a Field of View slider. In March 2020, Guerrilla Games claimed that it had no plans to add a FOV slider. Apparently the team has re-considered it and implemented one in the game.
