The team behind the unofficial PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has released a brand new version of it. According to the team, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Brazil Version 1.0.2 brings major performance improvements.
Additionally, this latest version adds support for upscaling modes. From what I’ve seen, there isn’t yet support for DLSS 2 or FSR 2.0. Instead, the game uses IGTI upscaling.
What’s also interesting is that the game now has some graphics settings to tweak. For instance, you can adjust the quality of Geometry, Shadows, Ambient Occlusion, SSR Reflections, Clouds and Fog. The game also supports both DX11 and DX12 (though the devs recommend using the DX11 API).
Not only that but Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Brazil V1.0.2 fixes around 200 textures/shaders and adds support for specular lighting to character models. Its team has also shared some updated PC requirements. These new PC specs also list the PC config you’ll need for gaming at 4K.
So, according to the new PC requirements, PC gamers will need an Intel i7 12700K or an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 4070 or an AMD Radeon RX 6800XT. Not only that but with the IGTI upscaling, the game is playable on the Steam Deck.
Do note that there are still major graphical glitches. And, as you will see, there are still major stuttering issues. So while this latest build has greatly improved performance, you still won’t be able to get a constant 60fps experience. Still, we should not forget that the first version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Brazil came out a month ago, on January 16th. So, the fact that the game already runs the way it does is mighty impressive.
For those wondering, Ray Tracing is disabled by default in this unofficial PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. So, these PC specs are for the non-RT version.
Finally, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Brazil still needs a lot of work. While you can play it from start to finish, I don’t really consider this enjoyable. Once the modding team manages to fix all of the visual issues and address the stutters, I’ll be able to recommend it. This might take a while, so there is no point at all right now to search for it in order to try it. At least in my opinion.
Although Sony hasn’t officially announced Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for the PC, we expect to see it in FY 2025. Or at least that’s what a previous leak suggested.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
