Need for Speed Most Wanted Unreal Engine 5 Fan Remake new feature

Over 50 minutes of gameplay from Need for Speed: Most Wanted Fan Remake in Unreal Engine 5

In March 2024, we shared a video showcasing a fan remake of Need for Speed: Most Wanted in Unreal Engine 5. And today, we are happy to share with you a new video, showcasing over 50 minutes of gameplay footage from it.

In this latest version of this fan remake, NostalgiaNexus added Police AI. This is a key part of the gameplay in NFS: MW. As such, the remake is finally starting to feel like more than just a tech demo for Unreal Engine 5. The dev also improved more textures and added speed line effects similar to those in the Xbox 360 version. Not only that but he improved the sounds of the BMW M3 GT.

This 50-minute gameplay video shows some police chases and free-roaming around the city. NostalgiaNexus also shared a comparison video between the latest version of his remake and the original 2005 game. This will help you see how much better the fan remake looks and plays. And in all honesty, it does look better. So, needless to say, I highly recommend watching it, especially if you are a die-hard NFS fan.

What’s really great about this fan remake is how similar it is to the original. NostalgiaNexus has done a fantastic job matching the art style and design of the original game. This is what a modern official remake of NFS: MW should look like.

Sadly, there is no way to download this fan remake as of yet. My guess is that the dev will release it once it’s ready. So, here is hoping that he won’t receive any C&D letter from EA.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, you should also check out the following fan projects. For instance, you can find some faithful remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3, which are super cool.
