Modder ‘Enneal’ has released a pretty cool mod that adds functional ships to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This mod, alongside the Animated Ships Mod, aim to overhaul the game’s ships. As such, they are a must for all those who want to replay this classic TES game.
Going into more details, the Functional Ships Mod adds to point-to-point travel. Ships will reflect quest progress, as well as world events. Not only that but players will be able to access the interiors of a moving ship. The mod also brings real-time(-ish) travel while inside ships.
As said, this mod should be compatible with the Animated Ships Mod. For those unaware, that mod allowed NPCs to sail their ship through ports, beaches, and sea. Furthermore, players are able to ride on these ships.

Do note that these mods are only for the Special Edition of Skyrim. If you have the Legacy/Original version, you won’t be able to use them. Oh, and remember to read their requirements as they may also need some other mods to work.
Speaking of Skyrim, here are some other big fan expansions for it. Wyrmstooth is one of them, adding new quests and dungeons to the game. This other mod brings elements from The Witcher games into Skyrim. Dragon Hall Tavern is a huge 2GB mod that adds quests, new places, an arena, and more. Then there’s Land of Vominhem, Apotheosis and Legacy of the Dragonborn. Don’t forget to also check out this Castlevania-inspired mod. Shumer and the Priest Kings is another DLC-sized expansion mod with over 200 locations, 180+ quests and 8,500 lines of voiced dialogue. Oh, and here is another one that adds the cool Nemesis system from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to it. Lastly, we have this mod that adds six new islands to explore.
And that’s not all. Skyrim has other mods that do lots of cool stuff. So, if you don’t want to use the aforementioned modlist, you can try the following ones.
For instance, this Call of Duty Mod adds to the game 12 new fully functional weapons from it. Then we have this mod that adds to the base game over 7000 voiced lines via AI. There is also this mod that brings the voices of Geralt and Ciri from The Witcher 3 to it. Another cool mod is this one that adds destructible objects to the game. You can also download this mod that makes NPCs smarter, enabling dynamic AI and allowing them to seek cover. Oh, and let’s also not forget this mod that adds unlimited dynamic light sources, as well as this mod that introduces a dynamic sanity system. Not only that but this mod adds a dynamic decapitation system. Finally, these mods add Subsurface Scattering, Dynamic Cubemaps, Water Caustics and Parallax Mapping to the game.
