The NervenHölle-Team has released some new screenshots for the first volume of Half Life 2’s upcoming Cinematic Mod Awakening. Cinematic Mod Awakening aims at further delving into the expanded gameverse of FakeFactory’s Cinematic Mod which added a lot of depth to the award-winning blockbuster of Half Life 2, and uses the Cinematic Mod 2013 platform with additional work being done by third-party/community members.
Cinematic Mod Awakening Volume 1 will add a new environment featuring new assets that will be surrounded by a huge concrete wall protecting it from the Wasteland hazards.
As the team noted:
“Gordon glimpses Citizens in their apartments. The train arrives at last at the station. Gordon didn’t leave the trainstation through the main entrance, but through a back door that leads to an industrial part of the city, with noisy factories filled with citizens working and passing through in all directions, watched by Metrocops and Combots. Workers consist of adults but also children. Gordon then eventually reaches the Trainstation Plaza and proceeds on foot to the entertainment/commercial part of the city where Barney is waiting.”
The modding team aims to release Volume 1 in Q3-Q4 2018 and Volume 2 in 2019, and below you can find some screenshots from its first volume.
Enjoy!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
