Deep Silver’s open-world RPG, Outward, has just been released and below you can find some 4K screenshots from it. In order to capture these screenshots, we used our NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti and we’ll also be sharing our initial performance impressions in 4K.
Outward features a fully dynamic time of day as there is a day/night cycle. Now while the sun and your torch cast shadows, a lot of the secondary light sources (like candles) do not cast any dynamic shadows. Not only that, but the game looks really dated for today’s standards.
The good news is that the game runs with 60fps in 4K on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti. We did notice some drops to 50fps in specific scenes and considering the visuals on screen, we can safely say that there is room for improvement.
Of course this survival open-world RPG does not rely on its visuals so those interested in it will most likely won’t mind the dated graphics (after all, the game already has Mostly Positive reviews on Steam).
We’ll share more about the performance of Outward on the PC platform in our upcoming Performance Analysis so stay tuned for more. Until then, enjoy the following screenshots!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
