It’s been a while since our last look at the fan-made remake of TimeSplitters 1, 2 & 3, TimeSplitters Rewind, right? In fact, back in July, the team claimed that it was experiencing development issues due to CRYENGINE. However, TimeSplitter Rewind is still alive and Cinder Interactive Arts has released some new screenshots from it.
These new screenshots showcase the TimeSplitters 2 Siberia level. Now since these screenshots are directly taken from the CRYENGINE editor, we’re pretty sure that this level will look better once it’s complete.
In case you weren’t aware of, Timesplitters Rewind is a standalone multiplayer game that is being developed by fans of the original Timesplitters series. The game will feature characters, maps, and weapons from all three games completely rebuilt.
As said, back in July Cinder Interactive Arts stated that the game’s development has gone stagnant. The team had been waiting for a new release from Crytek that changes a lot of the core systems of the engine and includes new documentation. From the looks of it, Crytek has finally released this new version of CRYENGINE and Cinder Interactive Arts has resumed development.
There is still no ETA on when this fan-made remake of TimeSplitters will hit the Internet, however we’ll be sure to keep you posted. Until then, enjoy the following screenshots!
John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
