Diablo III – No D2-like map, achievements and characters will be wiped, 300k peak concurrent users

Blizzard’s community manager, Bashiok, has shared some interesting new information about the open beta weekend of Diablo III and the features that will be supported in the final version of the game. According to Bashiok, Diablo III had 300k peak concurrent users. Truth be told, we’d expected to see more concurrent users as Diablo III is one of the most anticipated games of 2012. Although Bashiok didn’t share any total numbers, he reasured us that the number was quite big. Diablo III Open Beta Weekend Starts This Friday

Blizzard announced that the Diablo III open beta weekend, which offers open access to all players with a valid Battle.net account. Beginning this Friday everyone is invited to log in and help us put the game and servers through their paces in this three day stress test as we march toward the game’s release on May 15. Prototype 2 gets an Official Live Action Trailer

Activision and Radical Entertainment have released an amazing live action trailer for the upcoming sequel to Prototype. Prototype 2 promises to take the unsurpassed carnage of the original Prototype and continue the experience of becoming the ultimate shape-shifting weapon. Fnatic ‘aLive’ is the champion of IPL4’s StarCraft 2 Tournament

You know what, I’ve never been a huge fan of eSports. But then I started watching some fighting games and was uterly amazed by their skills. I mean, seriously now, how can you not be impressed when you watch in action Daigo or Tokido with his infamous Akuma pose? And then, I gave a go to Starcraft 2 and boy was I hooked on it. Robert Bowling, Call of Duty’s Creative Strategist and lead of Infinity Ward, is leaving Activision

I’m shocked. No, this is not an April fools joke (I double checked to see if it was April, believe me). Robert Bowling, the Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, has just resign from his position as lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision. World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Beta is Live

WoW fans, start checking your inboxes. Blizzard has announced that the beta of WoW: Mist of Pandaria is now live. Over the course of the test, Blizzard will be inviting Annual Pass holders, press, fansites, friends and family, and opt-in beta testers to participate. This first phase of the beta focuses on the 1-10 starting experience for new Pandaren. High-level content as well as template characters will become available in future beta updates, but you can still copy over your own high level characters now if you’d like to test the new talent system.
