Alien: Isolation Has Surpassed One Million Sold Copies [UPDATE]

SEGA today announced that Alien: Isolation has sold through in excess of one million units worldwide. That’s definitely good news for both Creative Assembly and SEGA, though we do have to note that Aliens: Colonial Marines – a game that was not as good as Isolation – was able to sell more copies in the same amount of time, thus proving that marketing and over-hyping a game is essential for publishers. As you may have expected, this new Nightmare mode is for all die-hard hardcore gamers that found the game too easy, while the Novice mode is for those who would like to explore Sevastopol instead of consistently hiding to avoid the androids or the alien itself. Alien: Isolation – PC Performance Analysis

Alien: Isolation has just been released, and it’s time to see how this current-gen only game performs on the PC platform. Alien: Isolation is developed by The Cretive Assembly, the team behind the Total War series, and is powered by the team’s in-house engine. Naturally – and given The Creative Assembly’s record – a lot of PC gamers were questioning whether the team would be able to offer a polished version of a non-strategy game to its fans. And we are happy to report that Alien: Isolation performs incredibly well on the PC. Continue reading Alien: Isolation – PC Performance Analysis

Alien: Isolation – Modders Re-enable Oculus Rift Support

Well, you gotta love modders. A couple of months ago, SEGA showcased Alien: Isolation via Oculus Rift VR. Disappointingly enough, Creative Assembly dropped – all of a sudden – support for this VR device, meaning that the final version could not be enjoyed with it. Well, thanks to modders, now you can. Continue reading Alien: Isolation – Modders Re-enable Oculus Rift Support

Alien: Isolation – Low Versus Ultra Screenshots Comparison (4K)

SEGA was kind enough to provide us with a review code for Alien: Isolation, and below you can find a screenshot comparison between the game’s Low and Ultra settings. In order to provide a ‘apple-to-apple’ comparison, we kept the same AA, AF and resolution. As we can clearly see, there is a graphical difference between these settings, though it’s not as big as we’d hoped. We also noticed awkward SLI scaling behaviour with Ultra settings while we were running at 3840×2160 (in case you’re wondering then no; we were not VRAM limited). Enjoy the comparison and stay tuned for our Performance Analysis. We strongly suggest opening the images in a new tab in order to see the differences. As always, Ultra is on the left whereas Low is on the right! Continue reading Alien: Isolation – Low Versus Ultra Screenshots Comparison (4K)
