AMD’s drivers are more stable than those from NVIDIA, third-party report claims

QA Consultants has released a report, claiming that AMD’s drivers are more stable than NVIDIA’s drivers. According to the report, AMD’s systems passed 401 out of 432 tests while Nvidia’s systems passed 356. This basically means that AMD’s GPUs achieved a pass rate of 93% whereas NVIDIA’s GPUs achieved a pass rate of 82%. AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Adrenalin 18.7.1 driver is optimized for Earthfall and improves performance by up to 28% on the Radeon RX Vega 56 and by up to 22% faster on the Radeon RX 580. Resident Evil 2 Remake, The Division 2 and Strange Brigade will be optimized for AMD’s graphics cards

In an interview with Geoff Keighley at E3 2018, AMD announced some new partnerships with Rebellion, Ubisoft and Capcom. According to Scott Herkelman, VP and GM at AMD Radeon Gaming, The Division 2, Resident Evil 2 Remake and Strange Brigade will be optimized for AMD’s graphics cards. AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition 18.6.1 is optimized for Warhammer: Vermintide 2, offering up to 9% faster performance on the Radeon RX Vega 56 and up to 10% faster performance on the Radeon RX580. AMD will release its second generation Threadripper CPU in Q3 2018, featuring up to 32 CPU cores

At Computex 2018, AMD revealed that its second generation Threadripper CPU will release in Q3 2018. AMD showcased two models: one featuring 24 CPU cores and 48 threads and another featuring 32 CPU cores and 64 threads. AMD has slightly increased its GPU market share in the first quarter of 2018, Intel remains the king

Jon Peddie Research, the industry’s market research firm for the graphics industry, has released its Q1 2018 market report. According to the report, year-to-year total GPU shipments increased 3.4%, desktop graphics increased 14% and notebooks decreased -3%. And even though AMD has slightly increased its GPU market share, overall GPU shipments decreased -10% from last quarter (AMD decreased -6%, Nvidia decreased -10%, and Intel decreased -11%). ASUS pulls the plug on its newly announced AREZ, AMD GPUs to return to the ROG gaming brand [UPDATE]

Back in April, we informed you about a new gaming brand that ASUS created for AMD’s graphics cards.
