After the debate about whether Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Assassin’s Creed 2 share the same code and assets, YouTube’s member ‘JohnnyB2K’ has created an interesting video comparison between these two titles. As we can see, the climbing animation looks similar but not the same. The ‘moving along a ledge’ animation, on the other hand, is exactly the same with the one featured in the AC series. Ubisoft and Warner Bros have not commented on this story yet. Enjoy the video after the jump! Continue reading Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor versus Assassin’s Creed – Video Comparison→
Interesting rumors arose today regarding two of our favourite franchises: Deus Ex and Assassin’s Creed. Starting off with Assassin’s Creed, it seems that its fourth part will take place before the events of Assassin’s Creed 3. Sounds awful? Oh it sure does as Ubisoft seems to be milking the franchise once again. Hell, it got as tedious as the Dead Zone TV mini-series. What the hell Ubi? Our reader ‘Clyde Vassallo’ has just informed us about a huge 24-minute compelling tribute video for Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio Auditore character, a really great tribute to one of the best characters of all time – if we may add – that all AC fans will appreciate. This is our weekend spotlight, so kudos to Clyde for creating something like that. Our only gripe is with the somehow choppy gameplay footages that have been used. Still, this is a tribute worth your time, so make sure to give it a go! Continue reading Assassin’s Creed – A Future Without Ezio Auditore – Fan-Made Tribute To Ezio→

Our reader Jonathan Gustafsson has informed us about a mod that promises to bring Assassin’s Creed into GTA IV’s game engine. Created by “ShakingASS” and “terreur69”, this mod is still in early stages and as we can see below, there are no special moves for Altair, no crowd, no abilities to climb on walls, etc. Obviously we’re asking for too much as this will most probably be an Assassin’s Creed map and nothing more. But still, imagine if these two guys could implement such features. All in all, this mod – on its final stage – will give us a glimpe of what an Assassin’s Creed game could look like on the RAGE engine. Enjoy some early footage from it, captured by Jonathan himself! Freddie Wong and his team have created an amazing video that puts old school characters (pixels, from the Atari era) with some new school characters, such as Lara Croft, Drake, Ezio and Masterchief. Naturally, this is a top quality video and feels like a tribute to old school gaming. It also reminded us of the mind-blowing ‘Pixels Attack New York’ video, therefore we decided to also include that video for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
