The Project Reality team announced this weekend that the open beta phase of its highly realistic mod for Battlefield 2 has been launched. According to the team, this open beta release is a crucial part of the development cycle. The team is providing two 100 player game servers for the duration, one for US based players and one for EU based players and aims to stress this mod’s capabilities in order to address most of its bugs/issues. We really love these comparison videos between older and newer games, as it is shocking witnessing how far we’ve advanced in the graphics/visuals area. Reality Studios have released Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam. Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam is an add-on for the PR:BF2 v0.97 modification and in this addon the team has added 3 new factions, 4 maps, 20 new vehicles and 14 new weapons. The addon will be implemented in the upcoming v1.0 of PR:BF2 but – as the team suggests – it would be wise to download and install it as there are already many servers running the addon. We all know that Back to Karkand brings back some of our favourite BF2 maps. But how much better does these new, re-designed maps look like? Well, time to find out. YT users ‘UltimatePCGameModder’, ‘DPCasting’, ‘zhrooms’ and ‘Robbaz’ uploaded some comparison videos between Battlefield 2’s maps and the remade ones for Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion.
