Do you know what would be really cool in Battlefield 3, apart from fighting against dinosaurs? Well, fighting against dragons. It appears that more gamers share this vision with us, and we were surprised to see some of them creating amazing mashups between these two games. Imagine a game with Skyrim’s openness and Battlefield’s mechanics. Man, that would be really interesting. Until some developers decide to offer us something like that though, we’ll have satisfy our need with the following two screenshots. Kudos to Reddit’s users ‘zimm3rmann’ and ‘SentientOne’ for sharing them. Enjoy! Continue reading Battlefield 3 meets Skyrim in these custom, fan-made screenshots→
Remember when developers were creating their games with all of its content? Well, it seems that those days are long gone. Every game is now built with DLCs in mind and Battlefield 3 was no different. According to Inge Jøran Holberg, Operations team Producer Björn Johnsson approached some of DICE’s designers and asked them if they had any ideas for “Xpack 3”, the third expansion pack for Battlefield 3 that would follow up the infantry focused Close Quarters. In other words, Electronic Arts had already deployed its DLC plans for BF3 right when the game got released in October 2011. We have to agree on something – some players are better skilled than others. And even though some of us are really cocky about their BF3 experiences, we have to bow and give our respects to some other players. So, YouTube’s member ‘BF3Cayin’ has created an amazing BF3 montage with over 5 minutes of pure pwnage. It looks fantastic so go ahead and enjoy the video. As a bonus, we decided to also include BF3Cayin’s earlier montage video that was released back in June! We really love these comparison videos between older and newer games, as it is shocking witnessing how far we’ve advanced in the graphics/visuals area. YouTube’s member ‘MICKMOFFAT ‘ created an amazing comparison video between Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 3. MICKMOFFAT put those games to the test on the Wake Island map, a map that is available in all three games, and showcases the differences between them. Enjoy! Now this is brilliant. YouTube’s member ‘jettan’ was recording some gameplay footage of Battlefield 3 when suddenly the game glitched and his weapons got vanished. Jettan then came up with the idea of replacing the missing weapons with the ones from Doom and that’s how this video came to fruition. DoomField 3 looks ridiculously amazing and jettan has even included a face icon, similar to the one found in Doom. Enjoy! Continue reading Battlefield 3 meets Doom in this amazing ‘DoomField 3’ mashup video→
Now that’s what we’re talking about. YouTube’s member ‘Wintergore ‘ created one of the best mashup videos between Metal Gear Solid, Pokemon and Battlefield. Battlemon starts with a Metal Gear Solid feel to it, with the isometric camera and the alarm sound effect. It quickly goes into a small RPG fight (in a Pokemon perspective view) and is followed by a ‘remix’ of Pokemon’s main theme. And once again, players show what we would be getting if there were mod tools for Battlefield 3. Damn you DICE. Enjoy the video below! Continue reading Battlemon is an amazing mashup between Metal Gear Solid, Pokemon and Battlefield→
Mr Kees de Koning created an interesting machinima for Battlefield 3 that involves a race with lots of explosions. This machinima is basically a cross between Blur/Split Second and Battlefield 3. And after watching it, you’ll definitely miss the mod tools that were released for Battlefield 2 and are nowhere to be found in Battlefield 3. Battlefield 3’s fanbase is huge and there is a huge potential for some mind-blowing mods or total conversions. Unfortunately though, DICE thought otherwise. And no, that ‘Frostbite 2 is too complicated for modders’ thing is the worst excuse we’ve ever heard. Enjoy the video!
