Remember BeamNG’s tech demo that sported soft body physics? Of course and you do since that tech demo was one of the best you’ve ever tested… right? Well, our reader ‘Jonathan Gustafsson’ has informed us about a mod that adds a skateboard to that tech demo. Not only that, but Jonathan also shared two maps that can be used with this skateboard. These are Skatepark and Leap Of Death. Jonathan has captured some footage from this skateboard mod that can be viewed below. Enjoy! Continue reading Mod Adds A Skateboard To BeamNG’s Tech Demo→
Our reader ‘Jonathan Gustafsson’ has shared with us some new videos from BeamNG’s tech demo that is currently available to everyone. There is no denying that BeamNG’s Next-Generation Soft-body Physics Engine is amazing. Yes, the engine needs to be tweaked a bit. However, it’s still among the best physics solutions we’ve ever seen, and we cannot wait for Destruction Derby game with these physics and destructibility. Enjoy! A lot of gamers criticized BeamNG’s Soft Body Physics Engine. Some of them thought it was ‘too floaty’ while others claimed that it was not realistic at all. Thankfully, Reddit’s member ‘VideoJugs’ has made a side-by-side comparison between a real crash and a digital crash from BeamNG’s tech demo. The crash – as you will see for yourselves after the jump – is pretty identical, so BeamNG has delivered. Continue reading Here Is How Realistic BeamNG’s Soft Body Physics Solution Actually Is→
As expected, BeamNG has released a tech demo for its upcoming racing game that can be downloaded by anyone. As the team noted, this is still an alpha version of its game and it is very unfinished, meaning that BeamNG is constantly fixing bugs and adding new features. You can view a video from it – as well as its download link – below. Continue reading BeamNG Releases Free Tech Demo For Its Upcoming Racing Game→
We’ve been following BeamNG’s next-gen physics engine closely these past months, and we are really excited to bring you this new teaser. A counter has appeared on the team’s official site, hinting at a possible open beta launch for its upcoming racing/driving game. Although nothing is set on stone yet, we do know that the game will be powered by Torgue 3D and will feature the company’s amazing soft-body physics engine. The counter will finish in around 22 hours, and we’ll be sure to inform you about what BeamNG will be offering to its fans. Until then, enjoy some videos! BeamNG has released a new video from its first racing game that is currently under development. This racing game is in alpha build, will be powered by Torgue 3D – as well as the amazing next-gen physics engine of BeamNG – and there isn’t any ETA as of yet. BeamNG aims to release first its physics solution, so here is hoping that it won’t have a negative impact to the game itself. Kudos also to YouTube’s member ‘RecycledSpoons’ for the second gameplay footage. Oh, and you can find some car crashes if you visit nadeox1’s YT channel. Enjoy! As promised, BeamNG has released a new video showcasing some gorgeous and detailed crashes. The level of destruction and deformation is really impressive, so kudos to the team for further tweaking its physics middleware. As the team described, this is an early alpha build. Moreover, glass particles and breaking lights are not implemented yet. Enjoy the video after the jump! Continue reading New BeamNG Video Shows Off Impressive Destructible Physics→
BeamNG has released a new, mind-blowing video for its next generation Soft-body Physics Engine, showcasing a work-in-progress alpha build. The video presents a lap around the Industrial circuit, some donuts, and then an accurate simulation of driving on ‘terrible roads‘. It’s pretty obvious that BeamNG is interested in building a racing game with its new physics engine, and we have to admit that it looks quite good for an alpha build. The team promised to show what most gamers are interested in – gorgeous and detailed crashes – in its next video. Until then, enjoy the following one! Okay PC gamers, we’ve got some bad and some good news for you today. The bad news is that BeamNG’s drooling physics engine will be moving from CryEngine 3 to the Torgue 3D engine. The good news is that BeamNG is preparing a new racing game that will take advantage of this extraordinary physics engine, and released a new video that can be viewed below. Although there is nothing ground-breaking in this particular video, we’ve got to say that we got a Viper Racing vibe from it, which is good in our books. BeamNG’s middleware physics engine will be portable to other engines too, however we don’t know whether or not any developer will invest on it anytime soon. Enjoy! BeamNG has released a new, mind-blowing video for its next generation Soft-body Physics Engine. As we can see, this new engine will be ideal for a rally game and let us tell that it’s about time for Codies and Milestone to overhaul their physics engines in order to compete with it. Imagine a new RBR with this kind of physics. Now that would be F’ing amazing. According to the development team, there is no engine simulation yet and the jerky steering is due to using a controller as they haven’t added input smoothing yet. Enjoy!
