Electronic Arts and LucasArts announced that the first digital expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, is now available for players worldwide. Available for £11.99, or at half price for current Subscribers (£5.99), players can extend their personal Star Wars saga, with exciting new playable missions, new features and a striking new planet, Makeb. Playing through Rise of the Hutt Cartel will raise the game’s level cap to 55 and allow players to access a host of new, higher-level group content in the recently released Game Update 2.0: Scum and Villainy. It seems that a lot of Dragon Age 3 fans are a bit worried about BioWare’s upcoming RPG. After all, Dragon Age 3 was announced a while back and we have not seen it in action. We do not have any screenshots for what BioWare is planning, and we don’t even know much about it. If you were a common fan, you’d think that BioWare is a bit ‘afraid’ of two upcoming RPGs that everyone is mentioning these days; The Witcher 3 and Dark Souls 2. However, BioWare is confident and according to Blair Brown, the company is not ‘afriad’ of anyone as Dragon Age 3 is ‘definatly’ going to be released and at BioWare’s ‘usual high standards’. Aaryn Flynn, GM for BioWare’s Edmonton & Montreal studios, has revealed that BioWare will be using the next iteration of DICE’s Frostbite engine for both the new Mass Effect game and Dragon Age III: Inquisition. Good news then I guess as developers will have the engine to push the game’s environments, physics, and visuals to higher standards. Dragon Age 2 was powered by the Lycium Engine, while the entire Mass Effect series was powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 3. Lucas Arts and EA have revealed that the first paid expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republich will be available for purchase on April 14th. The expansion will be priced at $20 for non-subscribers and $10 to subscribers. Ironically, the game itself is a free-to-play title, yet people are asked to buy this expansion. Oh boy, what next? Electronic Arts has released the final piece of SP DLC for Mass Effect 3, the Citadel DLC. In order to celebrate it – and excite gamers about it – the company has also released the soundtrack of this DLC for free. According to the company, Sam Hulick, Cris Velasco, and Sascha Dikiciyan came together to compose an emotional and powerful score for this personal journey. BioWare announced two new downloadable content packs for Mass Effect 3; the single-player pack Mass Effect 3: Citadel and the multiplayer content Mass Effect 3: Reckoning. On February 26, Mass Effect 3: Reckoning will be free to download (until February 26, 2014), giving fans of the popular multiplayer mode in Mass Effect 3 access to new characters, weapons and upgrades. On March 5, Mass Effect 3: Citadel will be the last single player DLC pack for Mass Effect 3, giving fans one final, sentimental journey with Commander Shepard and their squad. Electronic Arts has announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Update 1.7 is coming soon, and will give players brand new in-game content to experience including Relics of the Gree, a limited time live event occurring across the galaxy, and the Galactic Reputation system, an exciting new way for players progress their characters.
