A new Baldur’s Gate website went live a couple of weeks ago, suggesting that a new Baldur’s Gate game would be coming. Although there is nothing certain at this point, the website’s source code was updated a couple of days ago with some new quotes. Questions abound and no answers can be found as of yet. Are those new quotes addressed to the game’s fans or BioWare for abandoning the Baldur’s Gate franchise? Did BioWare want to ‘kill’ the franchise? A couple of weeks ago, Mass Effect 3’s executive producer, Casey Hudson, said that the Origin version of Mass Effect 3 would not be using an intrusive DRM scheme. According to Hudson, the game would require a one time, single authorization, and installs would not be limited. However, it appears that EA’s Origin service uses a version of SecureROM, a DRM system that is hated by a lot of PC gamers. In fact, a lot of gamers are boycotting all games that come with any form of SecureROM, and according to Reclaim Your Game, Mass Effect 3 on Origin uses a new form of SecureROM as its DRM. A couple of days ago, we informed you about Boris Vorontsov plans for an ENBSeries mod of Mass Effect 3. Sadly, the modder decided to abandon those plans. Instead of concentrating on all the graphical issues of Mass Effect 3, Boris wanted to simply enjoy BioWare’s title which is understandable as who wouldn’t want to enjoy it, right? Another major problem is the game’s engine itself. Mass Effect 3’s high and low quality content are tied together like it was developed 7 years, meaning that it’s really difficult to adjust everything to the modder’s liking. EA, BioWare and LucasArts today revealed Game Update 1.2 —Legacy. Going live in April 2012, Legacy will introduce new high level group content and community-requested features including PvP Warzone Rankings and Guild Banks, along with enhancements to the game’s innovative Legacy system. This update also provides improved UI customization as well as gameplay fixes and the latest optimizations to combat balance. Also today, BioWare announced Star Wars: The Old Republic’s “Friends Trial” program, allowing subscribers to invite as many as three of their friends for a seven-day free game trial. It’s almost here. The third part of Mass Effect 3 will be released in a few days and PC gamers can go ahead and pre-load it via Origin. The game is around 10GB in size and word has it that PC gamers will be able to unlock it earlier via VPN. That method worked fine with Syndicate, so we bet that it will also do the trick with BioWare’s title. Now that’s a nice surprise. BioWare and Electronic Arts have released a new patch for Dragon Age 2. This patch will update your game’s version to 1.04 and comes with various general and quest fixes. The changelog contains some spoilers, so be sure to avoid it if you haven’t played the game yet. This new update will be auto-downloaded next time you start the Steam client. BioWare and Electronic Arts have released the launch trailer of Mass Effect 3. Mass Effect 3 thrusts players into an all-out war to save the galaxy from an ancient alien race known as the Reapers.
