A couple of days ago, Mass Effect 3’s “From Ashes” DLC was leaked via XBLA. Obviously, BioWare wasn’t prepared for such a leak and after a few days, the company decided to clarify why it was not included in the main game and reveal some more details about it. The content in From Ashes was developed by a separate team (after the core game was finished) and not completed until well after the main game went into certification. And that’s why the content was not included in the main game. Continue reading Mass Effect 3: From Ashes DLC Detailed; screenshots and video coming in the following days→
BioWare has launched an alternative reality game (ARG) for Mass Effect 3. UK Citizens are asked to sign-up a petition in order to force the government to release information about UFOs and extra-terrestrial life. The petition asks for 10K sign-ups, so our guess is that once this number is achieved, we’ll move on to the second phase of this ARG. It’s interesting to say the least and we’d encourage you to sign it. Can’t blame us for loving ARGs, can you? Rejoice RPG fans as we have evidence that BioWare’s classic RPG, Baldur’s Gate, will be coming to Steam in the following months. A few days ago, both Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2 were added to Steam’s registry. And… well… Steam’s registry never lies. After all, the PC versions of both Sonic Generations and Alan Wake were revealed via Steam’s registry so we can safely assume that this is not an error or mistake from Valve, and our guess is that there will be a bundle or something like that. A lot of PC gamers were disappointed with the visuals of Mass Effect 3’s demo. Although there were lots of cool effects, the game’s textures were really low-res. As you’d expect, a lot of them expressed their feelings to both BioWare and Electronic Arts. And we are happy to report that BioWare will include higher-resolution textures in the full version of Mass Effect 3 PC. Our dear friends at EVGA have uploaded a video to showcase Nvidia’s FXAA technology in Mass Effect 3. As we can see, FXAA does a great work at smoothing out the game’s jaggies but introduces a slight blur effect. Those interested in a different method can go ahead and try the SMAA Injector that offers even better results in most games, without blurring the image. We are not certain though if SMAA Injector is compatible with BioWare’s RPG, so use it at your own risk. Enjoy the overview video after the jump.
