A lot of people consider Black Mesa as the DNF of mods. While it’s true that the mod has not been released yet (and although there are strong hints that it might hit PCs this year), we’ve been wondering what had happened back in 2009 and why the team did not release it back then. Black Mesa Source could very well be the new DNF phenomenon. It has been in development for so many years and since we haven’t got any news about it for so long, a lot of gamers have started thinking that this could be a vaporware and nothing more. Now you could say that it looks a bit dated but compared to the original game, this looks like a pretty damn good overhaul. Word has it that this is an older build – about three years old. No release date has been announced as of yet for Black Mesa Source, though our guess is that it might see the light of day in 2012. Fingers crossed.
