Diablo 3 PC Preview

It’s been almost 12 years since the release of Diablo 2. During this time, a lot of things can change. New challengers had entered the ring and tried to reclaim D2’s throne. None of them succeeded. Players have been waiting patiently for the next part of this legendary series and although Diablo 3 was revealed a couple of years ago, its development had started in 2001. This means that it’s been in development for eleven whole years. And frankly, during its development we’ve seen lots of changes. From a gritty, dark and gothic hack ‘n slash fest, Diablo 3 became a cartoon-ish and easier to the eyes’ action RPG. I seriously don’t know if Blizzard was influenced by Torchlight or WoW, however, D3 looked more serious and adult back then. Continue reading Diablo 3 PC Preview

Diablo III – FXAA Injector Modded vs Vanilla Version

I’m pretty sure that a lot of you were disappointed with Diablo III’s new, ‘cartoonish’ art direction. Thankfully, there is an FXAA Injector Mod for it and you can see below the difference between the modded and the vanilla version. The FXAA mod works as a direct3d post processing filter, making the game look sharper, have less saturation, add a slight bit of a (silver) sepia tone, slightly lowered exposure, slightly raised gamma. On the left of each shot we have the modded version and on the right the vanilla. Those interested can download the FXAA mod from here. Enjoy! Blizzard wants you to have high expectations from D3 after all; incoming release date announcement

All hell has broken loose when Blizzard’s community manager, Bashiok, said that gamers should lower their expectations for Diablo III. This sounded awkward, right? I mean a community manager telling gamers to lower their expectations for a triple-A game that will most probably sell like hot-cakes? Something didn’t seem right. And according to Blizzard’s Jay Wilson, Bashiok was being sarcastic. Now obviously, there are two sides of this story: either Bashiok was indeed trolling everyone and the media mistook his comment or he was dead serious and Jay Wilson is trying to damage control this whole mess. Hooray. Diablo 3 WILL have public chat channels; coming soon to the beta via a patch

All hell has broken loose when Blizzard’s community manager, Bashiok, tweeted that Diablo 3 would not support chat channels. We can’t see anything wrong with that – as PC gamers can use Teamspeak and other similar programs – but it seems that a lot of you got annoyed by that. And naturally, a lot of Diablo fans started complaining and thought that Blizzard have turned their back on them. Well, good news everyone as Bashiok was wrong and public chat channels WILL be available in Diablo 3. Diablo III will be ‘color-blind’ friendly; game is built with that in mind

You know what? Color-blind gamers have the right to enjoy each and every game. Most of them can’t distinguish the difference between green and red hues but that doesn’t mean that they are bad players or that they are not as hardcore as most of you. And thankfully, Blizzard’s upcoming action RPG game will be quite friendly to all color-blind gamers, as the game is built with those gamers in mind.
