Dean Hall, creator of DayZ, has released a new set of screenshots from the standalone version of his zombie game that is being developed by him and Bohemia Interactive. Dean has also revealed some new information abou the standalone version. As you may have guessed, the game did not manage to hit its 2012 release date, and that was because Dean wanted to create something more than just a repackage of his mod. Even though ArmA 3 was officially scheduled for release at the end of 2012 / start of 2013, we already knew that the game was not coming out anytime soon. And Bohemia has just informed us about the delay of its upcoming military sim title. According to the team, the additional development time will enable the project to reach its full potential, with the studio expecting to finalize their release plans in the new year. Dean ‘Rocket’ Hall has released a new set of screenshots for the standalone version of DayZ. Dean is working closely with Bohemia for the development of the standalone version of DayZ, and has revealed that they are targetting for a ‘The Road’ experience. Keep also in mind that these are early screenshots and do not represent the final quality of the game. As Dean described, in these screenshots the greater range of buildings that now have interiors is displayed, from the large office buildings, to the hospitals, metalwork factories, through to small cottages. Dean ‘Rocket’ Hall has unveiled the first screenshots from the standalone version of DayZ. As Dead notes, these are work-in-progress shots with only basic texture work and initial lighting passes. In other words, these are as early as they can possibly can. The standalone version of DayZ is expected around December and will follow Minecraft’s model (releasing as an alpha for early addopters and moving progressively towards the beta and final stages). Our reader ‘GhostRiderLSOV’ has sent us one of the most ambitious ArmA 2 machinima movies we’ve ever seen. Directed, edited and produced by Binary Orchestra, this movie shows an invasion at Seattle that puts against the US army with the Russian one.
