Bohemia Interactive released today two new screenshots for their upcoming remake of Carrier Command, Carrier Command: Gaea Mission. Carrier Command: Gaea Mission will feature large 32 island archipelago occupied by an enemy. It is on player to claim the territory and establish his presence in this only human colony in universe. Islands differ in shapes, sizes (up to 16 square kilometres) and being spread amongst 6 different climatic zones also in weather conditions and flora. Bohemia Interactive released a new, massive update for their military sim game, ArmA 2. This new release candidate is 533MB in size and includes both ArmA 2 1.11 and ArmA 2: BAF 1.03 updates. Alongside some major fixes and especially multiplayer networking/jip/ ones there are tweaks, improvements and bonus stuff like FXAA. Bohemia Interactive has released today a demo-version of their brand new helicopter game: Take On Helicopters. The game offers an authentic helicopter flight experience, while bringing several other innovations to the flight sim genre. For example, players are able to get out of their helicopter and explore the thousands of km² wide terrains on foot. As we said in our performance analysis, we love Bohemia. Yes, Take On Helicopters has some performance issues with modern-day hardware but this is a title for a niche market and a game that could have not been developed by – pretty much any – other triple-A studios. Yeap, that’s the magic of independent games. And we are really amazed with its protection system as it’s not as intrusive as Ubisoft’s awful attempts, yet it’s even more effective than the atrocious always-online DRM systems. Let us say that we love indie developers and especially Bohemia Interactive. The ArmA series is one of the best military simulation series ever, although its graphics engine is a bit problematic and rough around its edges. So when we heard about Take on Helicopters, we were skeptical. You see, instead of using the brand-new ArmA 3 engine, Take on Helicopters uses ArmA 2’s engine. And believe us, we tried. We really tried to enjoy Take on Helicopters but the game is currently plagued with performance issues and a – possibly – broken SLI profile.
