Bohemia Interactive announced today that Arma Tactics version for PC, Linux and Mac is now available via SteamPlay. According to the team, Arma Tactics will take advantage of SteamPlay, thus everyone who purchases the game will receive PC, LINUX and MAC versions in one. Bohemia Interactive has released the first post-launch update for its military first person sim, Arma 3. According to the press release, Arma 3’s update 1.02 implements numerous of tweaks, fixes and improvements, which are all listed below. Ah, the ‘beauty’ of Bohemia’s titles. Back in March, we informed you about the performance of ArmA 3’s alpha version. As we said back then, Bohemia’s military FPS sim was plagued with lots of CPU performance issues. We were really looking forward to the final build of the game to see whether the Czech studio would be able to optimize it or not. Well, even though the final build of ArmA 3 scales better on multi-cores, it still runs as bad as most of Bohemia’s titles. Moreover, and despite the fact that ArmA 3 relies heavily on the CPU, it does not take full advantage of quad-cores as there are no performance differences between tri-cores and quad-cores. Bohemia Interactive announced today that it is planning to release Arma 3’s campaign in 3 free episodes after the game’s initial launch. Supplied as free DLC, the first episode, Survive, will be made available within one month, while the following episodes, Adapt and Win, are slated for release in the months thereafter. This means that, with the free campaign arriving later, the game will premiere with the large island terrains of Altis (270 km²) and Stratis (20 km²), 12 singleplayer showcase missions, 3 faction showcases, 9 multiplayer scenarios, a set of 10 firing drill challenges, over 20 vehicles, more than 40 weapons, 5 factions, the powerful scenario editor and modding support.
