Stainless Games has revealed – in a long, long post on the game’s blog – that Carmageddon: Reincarnation will be support mega-texturing, the technology that was behind Carmack’s FPS, RAGE. In addition, the engine powering this new Carmageddon game is written from the ground up, will support deferred lighting, and you can view some early – very early – in-game shots from the game below. There has been an overload of videos these days, right? Well, get ready for a bloody trailer from Carmageddon: Reincarnation. Yeap, that’s right everyone. This is the first gameplay footage from the new Carmageddon game and we should note that it is from an early build. It definitely needs more polish but even at this state, it looks fun. Amazing news everyone as Carmageddon: Reincarnation’s Kickstarter campaign has hit its $400K USD goal. Carmageddon: Reincarnation is a re-boot of everything that made the original games such a blast to play. The new game will be inspired by the classic environments, cars, drivers and power-ups from the original, but dragged screaming and kicking into the current state of the rendered art. According to the company, Carmageddon: Reincarnation will support LAN which will be available while you are offline too. The amazing Pratcam of the first Carmageddon will return and Stainless has already booked Tony (the man who was shown in the Pratcam of Carmageddon) for his comeback. Although these are concept arts – meaning that they do not represent the game’s look and graphics – we can’t help but wish for this kind of image fidelity from the actual game.
