Yeah, it’s a fantastic game but what’s more amazing is that CD Projekt RED will offer you the upcoming Enhanced Edition for free. The Enhanced Edition comes with new characters, new locations, extended outro, new adventures, new cut-scenes and lots of other features. Seriously now, companies like BioWare and Capcom decided to cut major content from their games to sell it afterwards as DLC and made a lot of money. CD Projekt RED has revealed that their amazing RPG, The Witcher 2, has sold 1.1 million copies in 2011. From those copies, only 270,000 were sold through digital services. In other words, retail sales were about 70%, proving that retail is not going anywhere and can be really successful. The Witcher 2 is slated for release on X360 and it will be interesting to see how well will it sell in Microsoft’s console. After watching this new cinematic of The Witcher 2’s enhanced edition, I can safely say that graphics do matter. Sure, everyone prefers gameplay over graphics but we wouldn’t be using SLI and Crossfire systems if we didn’t want the extra eye-candy, right? And oh boy, I can’t wait till we get this kind of in-game visuals. Perhaps the next generation of consoles will help us achieve something like that? In December, we found out that CD Projekt RED was threating individuals who had downloaded illegally The Witcher 2. Fast forward a month and PC gamers can rejoice as CD Projekt RED has listened to its fanbase and will stop all legal threats about it. Now do not misunderstand this; CD Projekt RED is not supporting piracy. However, they decided to play it fair and square with you as their actions could potentially harm those who purchased the game. Yesterday, CD Projekt RED held its Investor’s Day 2011 event and revealed that they will be releasing five new games until 2015. Going into more detail, the Witcher developer will release two triple-A games in 2014 and 2015, while a mid-budget and two low-budget titles will be released in 2012-2013. Here are some good new for all Witcher fans out there. CD Projekt RED has just announced that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings’ digital sales have exceeded their expectations as the game has sold, in its first quarter, nearly a quarter of a million units. Naturally, the best distribution platform was Valve’s Steam where The Witcher 2 sold 195,000 units, whereas CD Projekt RED’s service, GoG.com, has sold 35,000 copies of DRM-free copies.
