Star Citizen 2.6.2 is now live, adds support for Mega Map and ultra widescreen 21:9 monitors

Cloud Imperium has released a new update for Star Citizen. This patch will update the game’s version to 2.6.2 and features the Mega Map for Multiplayer Arena Commander and Star Marine, new implementations to its ongoing network code updates, and the new Drake Buccaneer. Star Citizen will support the Vulkan API and will eventually drop DirectX 11 support

Cloud Imperium’s Alistair Brown has revealed that Star Citizen will support the Vulkan API – instead of DirectX 12 – in the near future. As Brown claimed, Cloud Imperium will be using Vulkan as it is available on all the latest Windows operating system and sports the same feature set and performance advantages of DX12.
