We are pretty sure that Codemasters will reveal lots of details about their 2011 version of F1 at this year’s GamesCom but Steve Hood, the game’s Chief Designer, decided to go ahead and share some new information via his Twitter account. According to Steve, co-op championships will only be available online rather than via split-screen and the career mode will be five seasons rather than seven. Codies rolled out today the Mud and Guts DLC for their arcade racing game, Dirt 3. This new DLC features five new cars and is priced at £4.39 or 480 Microsoft Points. Codemasters announced today the release date of their upcoming first-person shooter, Bodycount. Moreover, the company revealed the final packshots of the game. Codemasters revealed a trailer for Operation Flashpoint: Red River’s new DLC Pack, called Valley Of Death. Valley Of Death will feature eight new Fireteam Engagements that will be playable in either single-player or in four player online co-op. Codemasters released the first developer diary for their 2011 version of F1. This developer diary features work-in-progress gameplay footage from the game and the development team explain how F1 2011 will be a far more complete package this time around. Some of the most important features are: co-operative championship mode, 16 players online, split-screen mode and KERS and DRS support. F1 2011 will be released on X360, PS3 and PC on September 23rd. Codemasters released the latest part of the Operation Flashpoint series, Red River. As with Dragon Rising, Red River is based on the Codies’ in-house engine, the EGO engine. To be more precise, Red River is based on the 2.0 version of EGO engine, the same version that was used in Dirt 3 and will be used in F1 2011. Codemasters released the first downloadable content for Dirt 3. This new DLC is called The Power and Glory Car Pack and includes five new vehicles.
