A couple of weeks ago, we presented you some images from a fan-made project that aimed to recreate Uncharted 3 in CryEngine 3. Naturally, a lot of people criticized this project’s sand textures, which is perhaps why modder ‘PianoPolish’ decided to enhance them and release some new screenshots. The end result comes really close to what Naughty Dog has achieved, so kudos to the modder. Fact: Jurassic Park is a franchise that deserves a high quality triple-A game. Fact: Dreamworks has no plans for a new Jurassic Park game. Fact: CryEngine is an engine that can be used to create a mind-blowing game/mod based on this dino franchise. Fact: A lot of teams tried to create a Jurassic Park mod for Far Cry, Crysis and Crysis 2. Fact: All those teams failed to deliver. Fact: There is a new Jurassic Park project for CryEngine 3. CryEngine modders and indie developers have posted some new screenshots from their upcoming projects and holy batman do they love lens flares. We strongly suggest putting your sunglasses on before viewing them because some modders went overdrive with those new lens flares effects that were introduced in the latest build of the free CryENGINE SDK. The highlights of this week are Revan1199’s and USSR_GRAND’s maps. These two modders have created two amazing maps that do not rely on those annoying lens flares, so kudos to them. Enjoy! As you may have noticed, we haven’t shared any mods for Crysis 3 this whole time as… well… there aren’t any. Sure thing, modders have been experimenting with the Free SDK, however the true meaning of modding a game was absent all this time. And unfortunately, we won’t see any mods at all for Crysis 3 as Crytek announced that it won’t be releasing any Mod SDK for its latest title. Almost a month ago, we informed you about a recreation of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 3 in CryEngine 3. Well, today we bring you another attempt at recreating this title in Crytek’s engine. Modder Antonio Jean (who is 18 years old mind you) has finished his recreated map and presented some images from it. The end result is surprisingly good and comes close to what Naughty Dog created – and in some aspects surpasses it thanks to some of CE3’s features. Naturally, some will love it while others will hate it. And while we are at it, keep in mind that the map was created by a single person and not a whole professional studio. Enjoy!
