CryEngine 3 never ceases to amaze us. Crytek has just released the latest 3.3.9 version of their SDK and as you’d expect, some modders decided to experiment with it. Be advised though: lights are not rendered into the cubemaps with this new version of CryEngine 3’s SDK and both supersampling & customres are not working. Hopefully Crytek will release a hotfix in the coming days. But anyway, today we bring you new shots from modders iSqueezee, Lex4art, Nevil112, ReVan1199, blackhorizon, rGOt, Cleric, Lavizh, USSR_GRAND, Cry-Puppy, and frmdbl. Enjoy! Now this is why we love modders. Modder ‘theonebutcher’ has been working for a little while on a corridor space map that looks very similar to the ones found in Doom 3. This map comes with custom assets and the level of detail is simply astonishing. This map could very well be a glimpse of how Doom 3 (or even the upcoming new Doom game) would look like in CryEngine 3. CryEngine 3 is an amazing engine with so much potential and we really hope that more developers will license and put it into good use. Enjoy! You know what? I love Crytek. Yeah, the company screwed us with the initial release of Crysis 2 but since then, we’ve been getting a lot of support and love. Earlier yesterday, we reported that CryEngine 3.3.9 SDK was available and today, we bring you a video that shows off the new changes made to Crytek’s latest SDK tool. What’s also interesting is that the company showcases in this video an ‘Angry Birds’ clone while showing off the engine’s new Flograph Breakpoints. The new SDK is available for download right now. Enjoy the video after the jump. Continue reading CryEngine 3 Free SDK 3.3.9 Update Video gives us a glimpse of an ‘Angry Birds’ clone in CryEngine 3→

Ben Shelley has created something that most old-school PC gamers will appreciate. Ben was required – for a University Project – to modernise a small section of an old game and bring it into the CryEngine 3. Therefore, this fella decided to recreate a street section that was inspired from the beginning of Star Wars Dark Forces II on Nar Shadda. The map looks lovely and we’d wish Ben could release it to explore it in real-time. Oh well, you can’t have everything in this life. Kudos to PCGamer for spotting it. Enjoy the video!
